Finding Connection Through Vulnerability

It goes against our natural instinct. The last thing we think will be effective in connecting to others is to expose our most vulnerable selves. And yet, vulnerability is the very thing that drives connection between ourselves and others. Coach Michele Gardemann is on the podcast today talking about how when she was finally willing to get vulnerable in her marriage, that is when she started to see more compassion from her husband and felt a greater connection to him. Michele works with wives of bishops. She has a great perspective on the struggles that these women often feel and how they can be sure that the relationship with their husband does not suffer at the expense of his calling.

2023 Recap with Heather Rackham

We are told many times that if we read our scriptures, say our prayers, go to the temple, and magnify our callings, we will always be led and directed by our Heavenly Parents. But what if we are doing that and the heavens seem silent? In this year's final episode of the 2023, Heather is reflecting back on her year and how it was a year that the heavens seemed very quiet. The Power of a Faithful Mother

We all want to have a good relationship with our children. We all want them to make good choices. We all want them to be happy and stay close to the Lord. But despite some of our greatest efforts our children are not always going to follow the “formula” that will lead them on the path we think they should go. Coach Christi Davis is on the podcast today talking about her book entitled “The Power of a Faithful Mother”. She wrote this book because she followed the “formula” of being a righteous mother, and yet many of her children made choices that that formula should not have produced. It forced her to rework the formula and find one that allowed her to have a strong and amazing relationship with her children despite their choices.

The Power of Validation

We all have had those moments in our lives when we have needed someone to listen to an experience we have had, hear it, and simply validate the way we are feeling. When someone does it properly, it allows us to calm down, draw closer to the person validating, as well as draw closer to ourselves. The problem is that finding someone who can do that for us is often difficult. Many times other’s don’t know how to validate or they are in a mode of trying to “fix” our problems instead of just hearing them.  Meg Tilton is on the podcast today teaching you the importance of self-validation and how when you can learn to do this you will not need to seek validation from anyone else. Meg is a firm believer that when you can learn to validate yourself, you have more love for yourself and others in your life. You drop expectations of others and know that you can take care of yourself.

Lessons from the Stripling Warriors’ Mothers

If you are a mother there’s no doubt you have often felt like you are floundering and that the ground you stand on is shaky. Raising kids is not for the faint of heart. While the scriptures do not give much direction on how to be a mother there is one verse in the Book of Mormon that speaks volumes about mothering. Coach Heidi Allsop is on the podcast today talking about the profound impact the Stripling Warriors’ mothers had on them simply by knowing. But what did they know? Come and listen as Heidi reveals the answer to that question and helps you on the path of also being a mother that knows.  This is a great episode to kick off December when we speak reverently of another mother who knew much as she raised our Savior Jesus Christ. Your impact and influence on your boys can be the same. You too have the power to lead your sons by knowing the things of God.  Enjoy this episode.
