I remember hearing of missionaries talking about a program called “OYM”. I thought it sounded odd until I learned what the acronym actually meant. Pretty important in sharing the gospel! 😀
This week we are studying Doctrine and Covenants sections 29. First, we’ll talk about the role of agency in change and mental health improvement. We’ll discuss how we need to take accountability for our choices and do difficult things. We’ll also talk about how as we align our will with God, we will achieve greater strength to endure all kinds of challenges. Finally, we’ll discuss how trials, including mental health challenges, are part of a greater process to help us exercise our agency and eventually become more like our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ.
Section 29 really introduces this concept of “the gathering” and it has really “captured the attention” of President Nelson...and he has really emphasized the importance of it in our day to help the world prepare for the Second Coming of the Savior. 😇
Hank Smith and John Bytheway talk about this week's Come, Follow Me study.
The Second Coming of the Savior will be a crazy and scary time for some, but the first few verses of D&C 29 contain some hopeful, helpful, and glad messages to prepare the world for that great time.
Welcome to Grounded, where women and men of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds gather together with me, Dr. Barbara Morgan Gardner and my guests as we strive to build a bedrock understanding of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and become more like him. Today, join me, Nadia Cates, and Debbie Matheson as we study: Accepting the Call, I Am With You, and Life's Lessons Learned.
As Brother Mark Beecher explores the themes of conversion and the impact of the early missionary Saints, he also draws parallels with modern-day missionaries.
Should we set goals dependent on others’ agency? Mark Beecher explores the early missionary efforts of the Church and the Book of Mormon’s role in personal conversion.
Another aspect of the gospel that the world needs to hear is how the Fall is a crucial part of God’s plan of Happiness. And I think you’ll appreciate a nice take on an old familiar nursery rhyme.
