In this deeply meaningful conversation, Heather sits down with coach Brooke Oniki to talk about the evolving relationship between parents and their adult children. Based on powerful focus groups with young adults, Brooke shares what adult children wish their parents understood—especially when it comes to feeling heard, seen, and believed in. They talk about what happens when kids bring up painful memories from the past, how parents can avoid the instinct to take things personally, and why emotional safety matters more than perfection. Whether you're navigating your child's faith journey, building bonds with in-laws, or learning to love in new ways as a mother-in-law, this episode will help you show up with more grace, curiosity, and trust.
Pediatricians are more than just doctors--they can be a star player on your parenting team. This week on "The Lisa Show," pediatrician Dr. Weston Spencer joins Lisa to share why pediatrician visits matter so much. He explains how to get the most out of every appointment--from writing down your questions ahead of time to building a relationship with your pediatrician so they can reinforce the values you’re teaching at home. Dr. Spencer also covers important topics like managing fevers, supporting picky eaters, and danger-proofing your home. Plus, he shares why it’s helpful to let your kids lose at games and how that can build resilience and teach them to navigate disappointment. Whether you’re a new parent or a seasoned pro, this episode will help you make the most of every visit and every conversation with your child’s doctor.

This week we are studying Doctrine and Covenants sections 60 through 63. We’ll discuss the concept of work and how this is an eternal principle that should guide our lives. We’ll review the idea of spiritual gifts, or talents, and how the Lord expects us to use them for the benefit of our own lives and those of others. We’ll talk about how we need to seek heavenly direction as we move forward through life, but also need to balance this with the appropriate exercise of agency to make righteous choices.
Today we're studying D&C 59:9 in just one minute! Grab your scriptures and let's dive into them together!
