Doctrine & Covenants 12-17

This week we are studying Doctrine and Covenants sections 12 through 17, in addition to the final verses of Joseph Smith History. These sections are revelations given in answers to questions that individuals had about their lives. We’ll talk about the doctrine of revelation and how God wants to reveal things to us, but we must be prepared to receive them. We’ll discuss what is our part in seeking truth and how we can understand it. Free Speech on Campus: Protect Students or Speech?

A 2024 Knight Foundation report found one in four college students think schools need to protect students by banning speech they may find offensive or biased, the largest share of students to answer that way since the survey first asked the question in 2016. 2024 also set a record for the number of attempts to disrupt or disinvite speaker, cancel performances, take down art exhibits and prevent the screening of films on US college campuses, according to the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE).
