There is something so familiar about the Book of Ether. It’s like I’ve already been reading it all year. . Hope you enjoy today’s brief episode as we start a pretty amazing book.
When we are always looking to condemn or cancel people - past or present, it becomes nearly impossible for us to notice “a God of miracles” in our lives. Rather, let’s love, be patient, be forgiving, and gratefully learn from others. That’s when the miracles will start rolling in!
The Book of Mormon is for our day! It wasn’t written for them, there, and then. It is most definitely for me, here, and now!
I love the Bible! Both Old and New Testaments! So many great stories of faith and courage, so many heroes, so many wonderful scripture verses. One of the main reasons that I love it is found in Mormon 7!
Here is a chance to share with us a part of the B.O.M. that has been “of great worth” to you so far this year. Please comment and share - we’d love to hear!
Mormon loved his people...and his enemies - no doubt about that! Because of that, he felt a great yearning to share with them that which to him was of “great worth”...
In the midst of a super sad and tragic chapter, there are a couple of nice things to point out. Makes me love and respect Mormon even more.
Ok, truth be told - after chapter 1, Mormon 2-5 is a pretty sad and depressing tale of a very wicked and disobedient people. That said, Mormon loved them and there are some lessons for us to learn from it.
I love how prophets often compare their experience with spiritual things with food. Words like “feasting”, “hungering and thirsting”, and “tasting” help me understand what it was probably like for them...and I want to do the same and like him, share it with those I love.
