My friend judged all the people living in “those nice houses”. But here’s what I’ve learned while studying 2 Nephi 12:12.
We all have dreams and expectations of the relationships we will have with our children when they become adults. But far too often, they don’t follow the script we have for those dreams and we find ourselves feeling like the relationships we have with them are out of control and lacking in so many ways. Coach Brooke Oniki is on the podcast today to share how the relationships we have with our adult children can be abundant, full, and better than we ever dreamed in the first place. We just have to relax and be patient. We have to have faith in the relationship we built with them when they lived with us.

In this episode we’ll talk about 2 Nephi chapters 11 through 19. These are the first of the Isaiah chapters in Nephi’s personal record. We’ll talk about how important these writings were to Nephi, and how they provided him with peace and assurance during times of trial. We’ll review the concept of aligning our beliefs with truth, particularly as it relates to our tendency to twist God’s teachings to meet our own preferences. We’ll also discuss how everyone has access to peace and happiness in their lives, but only upon obedience to the principles that govern such feelings.
