Voices of the Restoration #7
Hank Smith and John Bytheway talk about this week's Come, Follow Me study.
Today, we’re excited to bring you a special episode—a replay of one of our favorite sessions from last year’s Restore Gathering, featuring Dave Butler. We’re also thrilled to let you know that Restore 2025 is happening this September 25–27 in Orem, Utah, and this episode is a great preview of the kind of experience you can expect—thoughtful, joyful, expansive, and rooted in a deep desire to love and understand more fully.
This week we are studying Doctrine and Covenants section 76, which is a description of the three degrees of glory. We’ll begin by talking about the amazing promises made from God to those who strive to follow Him. We’ll review some of the differences between celestial and terrestrial beings and how overcoming our trials through the Savior plays a large part. We’ll also talk about President Nelson’s counsel to “think celestial,” and review some common challenges were such thinking can bless our lives.
Today we're studying D&C 76:19 in just one minute! Grab your scriptures and let's dive into them together!
For over 150 years, the U.S. has granted automatic citizenship to babies born on American soil, a principle rooted in the 14th Amendment and seen by many as key to equality and opportunity. But most countries don’t follow jus soli (“right of soil”), granting citizenship instead by bloodline. Critics, including President Donald Trump, argue birthright citizenship encourages illegal immigration and birth tourism, cheapening the value of citizenship.
"When you're in those dark moments or dark places, it's hard to feel God, it's hard to find him in your story. Looking back on my whole story, I was expecting an answer of him removing this sickness from me, and it was more so Him showing up in my story. I believe in a God who works 24/7. I don't believe in coincidences. It's easier to look back and see His fingerprint, but ultimately He's there with you every step of the way, whether you see it or not."
When decades of lies and betrayal suddenly unravel, can the atonement stitch a marriage back together?
