D&C 81

I’d love to meet so many people from Church History!  One in particular is Jesse Gause.  I’d LOVE to know more about his story - most of which is a mystery to us.  But the counsel and promises originally meant for him in D&C 81 can apply so much to all of us.

D&C 81-83

This week we are studying Doctrine and Covenants sections 81-83. We’ll talk about the blessings and talents the Lord has given to each of us, and the expectations He has as a result. We’ll review how as we magnify our talents we can improve self-concept and other mental health issues. We’ll also discuss the beneficial approach of addressing mental health issues with multiple tools, including spiritual ones. Finally, we’ll address the problem of cross-comparison and how avoiding this can lead to better mental health outcomes.

Will’s Story

No father at home and battling addiction, Will finds his true identity through his Father in Heaven "  I wish I had this knowledge at the age of 12 or even 8 when I was baptized. And I know it was probably preached to me, but I wish I would've grasped it. But I wish I knew who I was before. I wish I knew that I was truly a son of God. You can figure out who you are by gaining a relationship with your Father in Heaven. It's real. It's almost tangible. There's times where I say prayers and I feel the spirit so strongly that I'm speechless, you know? I think if we really try to get close to Heavenly Father, He's not going to hold back."

Leap of Faith: Mauli Bonner at Restore 2024

Today we’re sharing another fun session from last year’s Restore gathering—one of the most unforgettable moments from the whole weekend—featuring Mauli Bonner.Mauli has spent the past two decades in the entertainment industry, developing and writing for Grammy-winning artists and directing music for film and TV, and he also co-founded the nonprofit Lift Up Voices to empower young voices through creativity and community. In this session, Mauli shares a wild, personal story that starts with a quiet spiritual prompting and ends with an act of radical trust that left the entire room stunned. He offers a moving look at what it really means to live a faith-filled life—one that’s non-transactional, that doesn't guarantee we’ll see the fruit of our actions, but that still says yes to being God’s hands.
